SAN FRANCISCO: Elon Musk announced on Thursday Twitter that he hired a new CEO for X/Twitter without revealing that person’s name. Meanwhile, according to the Wall Street Journal, Linda Yaccarinoa Comcast NBC Universal The senior executive is reportedly in talks for the position.
Musk tweeted, “I am pleased to announce that I have hired a new CEO for X/Twitter. It’s going to start in about six weeks!” He also stated that he will be taking on the role of the social media platform’s chief technology officer in the coming weeks.
Musk took over as CEO after completing his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter in October. However, in December he stated that he would resign from the position as soon as he “finds someone stupid enough to take the job”. He also mentioned that he would then oversee Twitter’s software and server teams.
Yaccarino, the chief advertising sales manager at NBCUniversal, interviewed Musk at an advertising conference in Miami last month.
At the conference, Yaccarino encouraged the audience to greet Musk with applause and praised his work ethic.
