The Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyoone of the most renowned Japanese hotel companies operating hotels in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district and other locations is proud to announce the strengthening of its cooperation with Sanrio Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa, Tokyo, President and CEO: Shintaro Tsuji) to expand the facilities and services with “Hello Kitty” and other Sanrio characters at their Keio Plaza Hotel Tama.

Your Tama Hotel will be renovating a total of four additional rooms, including two themed rooms each my melody And “Little Twin Stars” ( Kiki and Lala ), adored by fans around the world since their inception in 1975, opens on Saturday 15th June 2019, becoming the world’s first hotel to regularly operate themed rooms. Keio Plaza Hotel Tama first opened four themed rooms based on Hello Kitty in November 2014, and the new rooms will bring the total number of Hello Kitty themed rooms to eight.

The Little Twin Stars room is decorated with different images of Kiki and Lala playing on clouds in the amusement park. Also, the younger brother Kiki, who is very curious and a bit hasty, and the older sister Lala, who can be easily scared and howl a bit, are shown in another scene riding a unicorn on the way to an amusement park. In addition, pillows in shades of pink decorated with star clusters are placed on the bed, which underlines the fantasy from the world of the “Little Twin Stars” and makes the guests feel like they are part of the depicted scenes.

The My Melody room is designed in the image of the innocent, happy and loving nature of the character playing hide and seek in a forest. A heartwarming wall relief depicting My Melody wearing a red hood made by her grandmother and playing on a swing made by her father is set against the backdrop of the room’s interior, meant to represent a green forest. In this room, guests feel as if they are part of a scene where My Melody is playing with her friends in a forest.

Prices for themed rooms with Sanrio character

The Hello Kitty rooms have enjoyed great popularity since their opening in 2014, reflected in an average occupancy rate of over 70% and supported by strong demand from female and family guests who appreciate the allure of attractive Hello Kitty cakes and – Looking for desserts, drinks and other food and services in addition to the rooms.
