NEW DELHI: Low-cost airline Go First has canceled all flights until May 28 for operational reasons. Airlines had previously canceled flights through May 26.
In a note published on Twitter On Friday, the airline said: “We regret to inform you that Go First flights scheduled until May 28, 2023 have been canceled due to operational reasons. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the flight cancellations.”
The airline also said a full refund via the original form of payment would be issued shortly.
The airline also said the company had filed a request for immediate dissolution and resumption of operations. It was mentioned that bookings could resume shortly.
On Tuesday, low-cost airline Go First responded to a statement from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), which said the airline had no specific timeline for resuming operations.
Civil Aviation Department officials said the airlines had expressed intentions to resume operations as soon as possible.
“There is currently no definitive timeline for Go First to resume operations. They have expressed their intention to resume operations for the first time,” a senior Air Ministry official said.
The regulator DGCA had previously asked the company (Go First) to respond to the notification of the reason for issue within 15 days. The regulator had asked Go First to explain the reasons behind the company’s inability to take new bookings and halt ticket sales.
The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) upheld the decision on Monday National Society Court (NCLT) order that allowed Go First Airlines to file for voluntary bankruptcy. “It dismissed the landlords’ application and asked them to appeal to the… NCLT.”
