NEW DELHI: The federal government on Monday elevated the worth of LPG by Rs 50 per cylinder.
Union petroleum minister Hardeep Puri mentioned that the worth of cylinder will go from Rs 500 to Rs 550 for Ujwalla scheme beneficiaries and Rs 803 to Rs 853 for normal customers.
“The value per cylinder of LPG will enhance by Rs 50. From 500, it is going to go as much as 550 (for PMUY beneficiaries) and for others it is going to go up from Rs 803 to Rs 853. This can be a step which we are going to evaluate as we go alongside. We evaluate these each 2-3 weeks,” Puri mentioned.
“Subsequently, the excise obligation that you’ve seen enhance is to not go on to the patron on petrol and diesel. That excise enhance is meant to compensate the oil advertising corporations for Rs 43,000 crore that they’ve incurred as a loss on the fuel a part of it,” he added.
Puri mentioned that the hike on LPG shall be reviewed after each 15-30 days.

This comes after the federal government elevated excise obligation by Rs 2 every on petrol and diesel. Based on a notification launched by the income division of ministry of finance, the excise obligation on petrol was elevated to Rs 13 per litre and that on diesel to Rs 10.
Nonetheless, the ministry of petroleum mentioned that the retail costs is not going to be effected by the hike.
