NEW DELHI: Bharti Airtel on Tuesday reported a 49% increase in its consolidated net profit for the January-March quarter of FY23 to Rs.3,006 billion on new 4G customers and strong growth in average revenue per user (arpu).
The telecom company had posted a net profit of Rs.2,008 crore in the same period last year.
Bharti Airtel’s consolidated operating revenue increased by 14% to Rs.36,009 crore in the quarter compared to Rs.31,500 crore in the March quarter of 2022.
“This was another strong quarter as we ended the year further strengthening our portfolio. “Our focus on acquiring high-value customers has resulted in 7.4 million new 4G customers as we exit the quarter with an industry-leading Arpu of Rs.193,” Bharti Airtel MD Gopal Vittal called. Airtel ended the fourth quarter and fiscal year at an Arpu of Rs.193, compared to Rs.178 it recorded in the March quarter of 2022. rival trust jio had reported an arpu of 178.8 rupees in the March quarter.
